A fair share for our families

For far too long the needs and concerns of Ward 1 residents have taken a back seat in our city government. The industrial base of our city is in Ward 1 and provides a substantial amount of our city tax revenues, but you wouldn’t know it by looking it by looking at the lack of investment the city has made in our neighborhoods.

As your City Councilor I will be a strong fighter for our families and neighborhoods. We deserve our fair share of city resources to ensure we have safe roads, better sidewalks, well lit neighborhoods, and that our parks are well maintained.

Jobs and Economic Development

The path to economic freedom and families being in control of their own destiny is through good paying jobs and making sure our local economy works for everyone. We shouldn’t have to commute to Brighton, Denver, Aurora, and other communities for good paying jobs.

As someone who grew up in a union family and has dedicated my life to ensuring our families have a path to success, I understand the importance of fighting for union jobs and creating a strong economic base in our community. I know what it takes to make sure our city government is creating the conditions for high qualityjobs to come to our community.

I will be a tireless advocate for our working class families and will fight to make sure our city is working to attract the jobs for our families today and our kids tomorrow.

Safe Neighborhoods

We all deserve to raise our families in neighborhoods that are safe and crime is low. I am a strong supporter of our first responders and will make sure our first responders are well prepared to respond in our most vulnerable moments.

However, public safety also means making sure we have well maintained streets and traffic calming to reduce street racing, our parks are well maintained, ensuring our neighborhoods have street lighting, addressing our homeless crisis with dignity, and providing sidewalks that are wide enough for our families to safely walk through our neighborhoods.

As your City Councilor I will always make sure our first responders are well resourced while also fighting to make sure we receive our fair share of city resources to ensure all of our safety needs in Ward 1 are addressed.

Clean Air and Water

Every family deserves to know their air and water are clean. It’s not secret that our Ward 1 neighborhoods bear the brunt of the air and water quality issues that come with Suncor being in our backyard. Our families struggle with asthma and other respiratory diseases at a level far above national averages.

As your City Councilor I will work with our county, state, and federal partners to hold Suncor accountable and protect our air and water. Our families deserve the peace of mind knowing that we can live in our neighborhoods without fear.
